Dr Patrick O’ Gara: The ACC is very grateful for the relationships it has developed with colleagues in China. This is the tenth anniversary of attendance at the Great Wall meeting and we are looking forward to strengthening our ties with the Chinese cardiovascular community specifically in the areas of registries and the areas of educational tools for both physicians as well as for patients and families.

Patrick O’ Gara
Dr Patrick O’ Gara: The sessions we have designed for this year’s meeting include discussions on prevention with a focus on hypertension and high cholesterol. Other sessions look at the management of patients with acute coronary syndromes and myocardial infarction, as well as the management of patients with stable ischemic heart disease in all of its manifestations. Lastly I would emphasize that we have sessions and discussions around big data and how that should be incorporated into patient care in the future, as well as the utilization of the team in the provision of care. By the team, I mean several different types of physicians, advanced practice nurses, nutritionists, social workers and family participation, all in an effort to improve patient care.
